Hartsfield-Jackson Launches “Under the Canopy: Stories Behind the World’s Busiest Airport”

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) proudly announces the launch of its groundbreaking new podcast series, “Under the Canopy: Stories Behind the World’s Busiest Airport.” This series is designed to take listeners behind the scenes of the world’s busiest airport, offering deep dives into its robust operations and the vibrant community that powers it. Hosted by Andrew Gobeil, Alnissa Ruiz-Craig and Herschel Grangent, members of ATL’s Communications team, “Under the Canopy” brings diverse perspectives and rich insights into the daily life at ATL.

“The launch of our podcast series marks a significant step forward in how we connect with the local community and our global audience in a way that has never been done before,” said Interim Airport General Manager Jan Lennon. “‘Under the Canopy’ aligns perfectly with our goals of transparency and community engagement, providing a unique opportunity to share the fascinating stories of how ATL continues to innovate and lead in the aviation industry, directly from the voices that drive our success.”

Drawing its name from the iconic canopies that arch alongside the Airport’s Domestic Terminal, “Under the Canopy” is inspired by these remarkable structures that have become a defining feature of Atlanta’s skyline. Symbolizing ATL’s expansive reach and dynamic presence, the podcast explores the diverse activities and stories that unfold daily beneath these architectural marvels.

The project includes a series of featurettes, interactive digital media campaigns, and live event coverage, all designed to engage audiences and provide insightful content that underscores the airport’s vast contributions to global travel and local community.

ATL Assistant General Manager of Marketing and Communications Elise Durham emphasized the broader impact of this podcast.

“We’re thrilled to bring this dynamic new content to our passengers, partners, and aviation enthusiasts around the world,” Durham added. “As ATL continues to grow, so does our story. This podcast is a platform to share that story with an intimacy and immediacy that only audio can provide.”

The first episode of “Under the Canopy” is now available for streaming on ATL.com, with subsequent episodes to be released monthly. For more information on the “Under the Canopy” podcast series and to listen to the first episode, visit atl.com/underthecanopy.
