Stacey Key Re-elected to State Transportation Board of Georgia
On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, a caucus of state representatives and senators from Georgia Congressional District 5 held elections for the State Transportation Board (STB). Stacey Key, who currently represents Congressional District 5, was re-elected to serve her third term. Congressional District 5 is comprised of Clayton, DeKalb and Fulton counties.
“From pedestrian safety and electric vehicle adoption to freight and logistics demands, the transportation needs of the people of Georgia are diverse and growing rapidly,” said Key. “As the newly re-elected representative of the Mighty Fifth on the State Transportation Board, I will continue to give voice to the needs of the constituents of this district while advocating for small and minority businesses.”
First elected to the STB in 2013, Key resides in Fulton County. She is President and CEO of the Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council and serves on various boards including the Emory University Center for Ethics, College Football Hall of Fame, Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Midtown Alliance. In March 2022, she was named one of the 100 Most Influential Women in Engineering by Engineering Georgia magazine.
The 14-member State Transportation Board determines policy and governs the Georgia Department of Transportation. Each member is elected by a caucus of Georgia General Assembly members from their specific congressional district. Board members serve staggered, five-year terms.
