MARTA Seeks Customer Input on Future Bus Network Redesign
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) will hold four public meetings this month to solicit feedback on imagined scenarios that will ultimately inform a redesign of its bus network. MARTA riders and potential customers will be asked if they prefer to have buses arrive more frequently on fewer routes or less frequently on more routes. The concepts presented in the meetings are hypothetical and designed to generate dialogue and debate about how MARTA can best serve its riders and the region.
MARTA first announced a desire to reimagine its bus network last year and these meetings are an important step in determining what riders want from their bus system. Customers are reminded that the scenarios presented in the meetings and through the media are NOT a recommended plan but opposing examples to elicit feedback that will eventually inform the plan. All current MARTA bus routes remain intact and operational and all service areas will be part of any redesigned network.
Meetings will be held in-person and masks are required. All meetings will be streamed on MARTA’s YouTube page MARTA – YouTube.
