Hartsfield-Jackson to Open New ATL West Parking Deck

As part of a phased unveiling, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) will open portions of the new ATL West parking deck Saturday, May 1, 2021.  Final touches on the integrated technology systems – designed to increase efficiency at the lot – will be completed early this summer. ATL officials decided to open the lot this week in response to the increased demand for parking.

“We are starting to see a significant uptick in passengers as people feel more comfortable traveling,” said Interim Airport General Manager Balram “B” Bheodari. “The newly constructed ATL West parking deck will allow us to accommodate more passenger volume and provide easy access to the airport.”

When fully opened this summer, the seven-level deck will have more than 5,000 spaces available for customers. Designed to be completely automated and efficient, the lot will have updated signage communicating the number of available spaces to customers. License plate readers, PeachPass holders, and Online Reservation users will enjoy contactless, easy access to and from the lot.  Pull ticket technology will be in use for the partial opening on May 1 and will be discontinued once the fully automated systems are in place.

Saturday’s opening will provide customers 2,250 spaces at a rate of $14 for a single day/$12 for subsequent days in a well-lit, secure, and attractive facility.  A spacious and airy atrium, highly visible wayfinding – including directions to open spaces – and easy access to ATL’s terminals make the ATL West deck a welcome addition to the Airport’s parking inventory.

ATL West Customers will access the Airport via the SkyTrain – a quick, enjoyable ride over Interstate 85 – and will be dropped off just steps from the Airport’s Domestic Terminal.

 Directions:

Signage on the Airport’s roadways will direct customers to the ATL West Deck/Rental Car Center. Customers will enter the deck, park, and access the Airport via the well-marked GICC Station on the SkyTrain.
