Hartsfield-Jackson Illuminates Canopies in Blue to Honor C.T. Martin
The iconic canopies at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) will be illuminated in blue this weekend to honor the memory of an iconic Atlanta leader. Former City Council Member C.T. Martin passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the age of 84. His leadership on the City Council – and specifically, as Chair of the Council’s Transportation Committee – impacted the City in immeasurable ways.
Mr. Martin played an integral role in the development of multiple substantial projects at ATL.
- The Maynard H. Jackson, Jr. International Terminal
- The Fifth Runway – dubbed “The Most Important Runway in the World”
- The Taxiway Victor End Around
“C.T. Martin was a true leader,” said Interim Airport General Manager Balram Bheodari. “His concern for equity and his conscientious oversight of our many capital projects at ATL will be felt by passengers and employees alike for decades.”
“He will be missed.”
