Hartsfield-Jackson Announces Domestic Baggage Claim Station Elevator Closure
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) today announced the closure of the Domestic Baggage Claim Station elevators beginning Jan. 5. All passengers heading to the Domestic Baggage Claim who require elevator use will need to exit the Plane Train at Concourse T and turn right to access the elevator, located between the descending escalators.
To mitigate the impact to passengers, audio announcements will repeat throughout the concourses and Plane Train and ample signage will be displayed throughout the facility. ATL’s guest service representatives will be present along the passenger journey to direct and answer questions as needed.

These closures are due to ongoing work with the Plane Train Tunnel extension that will increase efficiency of the train system and support projected future passenger growth at ATL. Two new modern elevators will be constructed at the West Crossover to replace the elevators being taken out of service, with an estimated completion date of August 2022.
