Georgia Power Area Manager Odessa Archibald Honored with Douglas County Chamber’s Chairman Award
Odessa Archibald, area manager for Metro West at Georgia Power, was recently honored with “The Chairman’s Award” at the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce Luncheon. Outgoing Chamber Board President Craig Owens of Wellstar Douglas Hospital chose Archibald for her work behind the scenes last year leading the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee to drive the advocacy efforts around the Hate Crimes Legislation the Chamber supported, and for spearheading two of the Chamber’s Recovery and Resiliency Task forces. Additionally, Archibald drove the logistics behind the creation of the Elevate Douglas Partnership, a public-private nonprofit focused on economic sustainability.
Archibald joined Georgia Power in 2003 as a leader on the regional community & economic development team and was responsible for consulting with companies and development authorities on business development, retention, and expansion. She worked closely on the business expansion of bringing Kraft, Schwan’s Frozen Foods, Winpak, Clorox, Stevens Rock and Dirt, Bonnell Aluminum, Deerfield Enzymes, Wencor and Elite Foam to the state.
In her current role as an area manager in metro Atlanta, Archibald is responsible for company representation and provision of service, strategies and solutions in operations, business and economic development, customer experience, government relations, community development, philanthropy and civic engagement for a market with more than 50,000 customers.
Prior to joining Georgia Power, she held various roles at Central Atlanta Progress, the Georgia Department of Economic Development and The Council for Quality Growth.
Archibald is a graduate of Howard University and Rutgers University.
