Joint Budget Weekly Week
During last week’s recess week, the House and Senate Appropriations Committees held joint hearings. The hearings began with Governor Brian Kemp on Tuesday, January 19th and concluded on Thursday, January 21st. Each Statewide Officer, Supreme Court, and State Agencies presented their proposed budgets. The State Economist also presented an interesting presentation on the state of the economy. The House and Senate reconvene on Tuesday, January 26th at 10 a.m. for legislative day 5. It is unknown as to how the session schedule will unfold, as it is only set through Tuesday at this point. There is the possibility of some breaks in the schedule due to Covid-19.
